The Process Of Offset Printing

Therefore, it is important to have some fundamental knowledge of how printing works, especially offset printing, which is one of the most widely employed printing techniques.
The users and the printers like offset printing because of its cost effectiveness for the production of large number of prints. The customers giving bulk printing orders are recommended by the printers to opt for offset printing because of this reason.
The ink employed during offset printing has oil as the medium and does not dissolve in water. Its so called because in this process, images are not transferred directly from the plates to the paper but this is done using rubber blankets as a medium.
The process starts by preparing the designs. Previously the images were produced by creating film negatives and were then transferred to printing plates made of aluminum. This is no longer needed as the technology exists for making the plates in one go through an image setting system. The subsequent step is to attach the plate on to a cylinder in the right manner. Then the water and ink are dispersed on the image plates, in that order. The image gets the ink while the rest of the area gets a thin layer of water, which makes sure that the ink does not spill beyond the images.
Next, the image is turned around when it is transmitted to a rubber blanket which is stuck to another cylinder. The image is now printed with its right side facing up by cutting sheets of papers into correct size and putting them on a third cylinder.
The final steps of the printing job involve things such as stapling, pasting or arranging the printed sheets according to the instructions of the client, and any printing company should easily manage these.
