Buying A Used Car Can Save You A Lot Of Money

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

These days, financial pressure is a reality for most middle-income families and has forced us to reduce spending whenever and wherever possible. However, certain crucial aspects of life, like transportation, cannot be avoided. You can, however, reduce your automotive related expenses by investing in great used car. Apart from the initial cost of the car, a wisely selected used car, be it a Toyota or a Suzuki, can help save money throughout the year.

There are literally hundreds of used cars of different makes and models available for sale to match every reasonable budget. The idea is to buy a car that allows you to sleep comfortably at night and not worry about what unexpected repair and spare part costs you are going to have o deal with next. Scrutinize the car for flaws or get a reliable mechanic to do it for you. Its always wise to take the car for a drive on different kinds of roads to check its performance under different situations.

New cars tend to swiftly lose value in the first few years of operation. The percentage drop in price when selling a car that was newly bought is far more than that of a used car. This is an opportunity to loose less money when you sell your used car in the future, making second hand cars even more desirable for families on a tight budget.

Car insurance is a recurring expenditure and can contribute significantly to your expenses, depending on the value of the car you purchased. Due to their comparatively lower market value, used cars have lower insurance premiums. You can also approach your existing insurance company for a further reduction in premium as you’re providing additional business. This means additional savings for you. Keep in mind that older cars because of their lower prices have the lowest premiums.

The increase demand for used cars has helped make the industry more professional and service oriented. Used cars can be found on sale not only by dealers but also by individuals in a variety of newspapers and online classifieds. Although newspapers arrange cars by make and model, online classifieds are far easier to use due to advanced search features which help you filter results by make, model, year, price and other important specifications.

Buying a used car is simple and with the availability of a wide variety of models, you really don’t have to sacrifice that much in terms of desired features and trims. The substantial savings realized can no longer be ignored in these unpredictable and unstable times. So cut down on the pressure and save that cash for a time of crisis.

Tips to Make Your Life Easier when dealing Mail-in rebates

Saturday, April 11th, 2009

Companies offer billions of dollars each year in cash rebates to attract buyers, but an estimated 60 to 70 percent of those rebates are never redeemed, due partly to the customers who forget to mail their rebates in time and some times due to the complex rebate requirements.

When dealing with rebates; please be sure to follow the following guideline, it will save you a lot of time in the future and ensure that you receive your rebate promptly

Avoid the mistake of sending in a rebate without meeting all the rebate requirements and failing to keep a copy of all materials sent to the rebate processor.

When dealing with rebates, Photocopy or scan all the paperwork you are sending to the rebate company. This includes the rebate form, receipt, UPC and any other required paperwork. It will be easy to prove that you have sent in the rebate, if you have a copy. The rebate forms will also have the numbers you need to call to verify that a rebate has been received and is being processed.

Before buying items with mail in rebates, browse through online deal sites to see if you can find the same product from some other stores. Some times you can find the same product in a different store without any rebates but with lower cost.

Before purchasing any item with a rebate; read the rebate requirements in detail which includes expiration date; post-mark date, location requirements, stipulations, etc.

Now day, many online retailers accept rebates online and you can mail the printed form to the retailer along with other paper work.

If the stores require original UPC code, make sure that you sent them after making a copy.

Once, you mailed the rebate make sure that, you check the status of the rebate by checking online in the merchants web site or calling their 1800 number. If your mailing rebate is greater than $50, try to send it my certified mail or at least take it to the post office and ask for receipt.

Rebates can be a great way for shoppers to get good deals online and to save money, especially on big ticket items. But you fail to follow the above guidelines; you will miss out on savings. Be diligent and save money by using mail in rebates properly.

Real estate agents can dominate the buyer side of the foreclosure market

Friday, April 10th, 2009

The current foreclosure market is a fantastic opportunity for agents to sell homes. To capture market share, most agents have gone after bank-owned listings. To date, this has probably been the best opportunity for an agent to secure listings and make home sales over the last year.

However, you probably know that today it seems as though there’s a great deal of competition for bank-owned listings.

To avoid this competition, real estate agents should consider helping home buyers and investors find and buy foreclosed homes. In other words, focus on the buyer side of the foreclosure market, instead of the listing side.

Today, most agents only see the foreclosure listing opportunity. They have completely missed the buyer or investor who wants to get a great deal on a foreclosed home.

The media spotlight on foreclosures has made a huge impact on the way buyers view buying a home today. They are obviously cautious about buying a home that might go down in value. They realize that the solution might be buying a foreclosed home, which is below value.

Many home buyers and investors are interested in foreclosures, but aren’t sure where to get information. They also want help, but can’t find anyone to help them.

To illustrate what I’m talking about, look at this excerpt from a Wall Street column by June Fletcher.

“… searching for a foreclosure can be maddeningly frustrating. Newspaper notices of foreclosure sales are disorganized; foreclosure listing Web sites charge hefty monthly fees; lenders post only minimal information on the properties they’ve taken back. And many real estate agents have little experience with these sorts of transactions, and don’t want to be bothered with them.

“That means foreclosure buyers must be willing to do more sleuthing on their own to find the best deals.”

This simply means there is a major gap in the marketplace. If you can help buyers overcome these problems, youll quickly dominate the foreclosure market as a buyers agent.

The linchpin to prosperity with this market is having a marketing and lead-conversion system that attracts foreclosure buyers and convinces them to work with you. If you can represent these buyers while everyone else is chasing those ever-elusive listings, you will prosper with foreclosures.

Easing Customer Anxieties In The Current Economic Crisis

Friday, April 10th, 2009

If you are in sales or business today, you understand the struggles over bills, overhead, and the desperation for sales.

Do you feel a sinking feeling in your chest when you think about our current economic crisis? Are you just a little scared? Are your hopes and dreams at risk?

As business people, we start to question our whole business plan. We wonder will anyone ever buy XXX again? So, we think to ourselves, Cut the price now! Discounts are followed by deeper and deeper discounts. We are so desperate to sell that we are willing to lose money to make a deal. Indeed, we may even pay the customer to take our wares.

These are the best of times. These are the worst of times. The news says 5,000,000 people are depending on unemployment. Almost nine percent of all Americans are out of work. This crisis is depressing.

Are you ready to give up? Or are you ready to make a difference in the lives of your customers?

People had reasons for buying your products or services before the financial crisis. What were they? Take a few minutes to really get a handle on the fundamental reasons customers needed or wanted your products or services.

To develop an effective strategy to deal with the new economic realities requires understanding, support, and consideration of your customers new worries as well as their desires.

Change has come. Your customers face the same fears you do. They worry about losing a job, paying the bills, and surviving. Dont you? Yet, you still eat, drive, and buy things.

You could give up and forget about ever selling anything ever again. Or you might apply the example of the auto companies. I am not talking about taking a bail out. Just recently, Ford and others have announced special customer assurance and support programs. It is too early to tell, but if I needed a new car, I sure would check it out. This plan is brilliant. Understanding your customers fears, help them overcome their worries with practical help.

What does your customer really need to feel comfortable making a decision to buy? Do they need extended warranties, help with financing, liberal return policies, what? Give them what they need as long as it benefits the customer and the business.

Cutting prices, however, is not necessarily helpful. When the sales person starts slashing prices, it communicates to the customer some things the business owner would never knowingly do. Slashing prices tells the customer the value of your product is much less than previously posted. Indeed, it may not be valuable at all. It also says to the customer that the business is desperate for a sale and may not be around to service that sale. It may even say to some customers that the business is unreliable.

What do customers want? Real value. When you offer a ridiculously low price, customers suspect something is wrong. Avoid selling mistrust. Sell value.

A business owner should ask him or herself, what will the market bear? How much does a customer expect to pay for your product? In the eyes of your customer, what is the perceived value of what you offer?

Lift up value. Add value. Help your customer get what they want with added support, warranties, and service. Sell benefits.

Recently, a customer entered one store looking for a specific product. She waited, looked, and finally left after she tried to get help for over forty five minutes.

At the second store, a sales person was so eager to sell her the product she wanted that they didnt listen to the customer. Within five minutes, without doing a demonstration or explaining the features and benefits of the product; the sales person dropped the price $2,000 from the advertized price. The customer was suspicious and left.

The salesperson at the next store listened and demonstrated the product. The value of the product with all its benefits and features were stressed. The customer bought the same product offered at the second store, and gladly paid a thousand dollars more.

When it comes down to the bottom line, what the customer really wants is the best possible value plus sincere personal support.
